On November 8th, 2017 at approximately 2:10 p.m. the Rensselaer Police Department received a 911 call from the 400 block of Milissa Lane [this is in the Madison Cottages subdivision off Wood Road on Rensselaer’s North side]. The caller reported a physical domestic between herself and her boyfriend, Tyson J. Meyers, 28 years of age. The caller stated Mr. Meyers had left the residence on foot. An officer responded to the residence, while another attempted to locate Mr. Meyers.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim stated she asked Mr. Meyers to leave her residence. An argument then ensued, leading to Mr. Meyers spitting in her face and pushing her. He then broke a decoration in the residence, shattering it on the floor, which was observed by the officer. The incident occurred while the victim and Mr. Meyers’ 2 year old child was asleep in the residence.
Mr. Meyers was located and it was discovered he had an [outstanding] arrest warrant for Domestic Battery and Strangulation against the same victim. He was consequently arrested for the warrant, and the additional charge of Domestic Battery by Bodily Waste (level 6 Felony).
