Rensselaer Varsity squad went over to Oxford for a showdown with Hoosier Conference foe Benton Central and came away with a convincing 60-6 victory. Bombers defense held a good pass attack to 119 yards passing on 16-41 from their QB. Run defense was even more impressive holding BC 20 yards on 14 carries. Defense was led by Luke Standish who had 10 total tackles and an Interception to finish the game. Tony Ybarra had 4 passes defended while Jose Hernandez had 2 passes defended and had 2 sacks. Offensively had 516 total yards, 397 on the ground and 119 yards in the air. Jordan Owens led the vaunted run attack with 18 carries 208 yards and 2 touchdowns. Owens opened the game with a beautiful 57 yard halfback pass that connected with Aiden Stevens for opening touchdown. Stevens added another touchdown catch from Jaylen Gilbert from 39 yards out. Jacob Grow was able to get some 2nd half rushes in tune of 55 yards on 10 carries and wing back Hunter Davisson had a great night with 4 carries 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. Stevens also was 4-4 in P.A.T. Bombers finally return home to Emory Harrison Athletic Complex from their 3 game road trip, to host Lafayette Central Catholic on Senior Night.
