Jeffrey DeBoard

Jeffrey Loel DeBoard, 31, of Remington, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018. He was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on January 14, 1987 to Lisa (DeBoard) Alcantar. “Jiffy” or “Bubby”, as his close friends and family referred to him, played basketball and football for the Tri-County Cavaliers. He graduated from Tri-County High School with the Class of 2006. He attended Amazing Grace Fellowship in Francesville.

Jeff worked as a landscaper and loved being outdoors. A diehard San Francisco 49ers fan, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, swimming, and just hanging out with his friends. He loved music and playing guitar. He was very imaginative and enjoyed building all kinds of things. Most importantly, Jeff was a great Dad to his daughter Huxley. He loved her dearly and took her everywhere he went.

Jeff is survived by: his mama, Lisa (Jose) Alcantar; his daughter Huxley; his brother, Josh (Patricia) DeBoard; three nephews: Kade, Kyzen and Mason; and one niece, Payslee.

He was preceded in death by: his baby sister, Tiffany Jean DeBoard, his grandpa, Bufford DeBoard, his uncle, Chris DeBoard; and his good buddy, Austin Whiteman.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, April 10th from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. (Central Time) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 11 a.m. (Central Time) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Per Jeff’s wishes, cremation rites will follow.
